Grenoble training
The PRESTO consortium is glad to announce that the 2nd PRESTO on-site training event took place in Grenoble on 9-10 June 2010 and it was a success like Tczew's training earlier this year. The excellent organization of the Grenoble team welcomed the group of participants in the "Stade des Alpes" stadium for this one-and-a-half day training session attended by urban and transport planners, representatives of cycling user groups and a friendly policeman. Two site visits by bike opened each daily session offering an overview of existing cycling infrastructure or black spots in the Grenoble Metropole area.
Overview of the training
Participants of the second PRESTO training in Grenoble had the opportunity to find out best practices and exchange their opinions and knowledge with top European specialists on the following topics:
- Cycling Infrastructure: State of the Art in Europe
- Case Study: Bicycles and Public Transport in Grenoble
The PRESTO training broadened participants’ knowledge on how to develop sound design principles for better and safer cycling conditions (crossroads and 30km/h areas) and demonstrate the latest developments and cycling infrastructure in Europe, with a particular focus on countries which are no cycling countries yet (low cycling culture).
