Zagreb training
The city of Zagreb was proud to be the host of PRESTO's 3rd on-site training. The event took place on 8-9 December 2010 in the Old City Hall a stone's throw away from St. Mark's square and the parish church of Old Zagreb (St. Mark's Church). The church is well known for its colored tiles which lies on the roof so they represent the coat of arms of Zagreb (white castle on red background) and Triune Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia. Our local guide, Dora, showed the group around the Upper Town, the Cathedral and the market square before we reached the Main Square where the Christmastime atmosphere was already vibrant! Afterwards a short site visit to existing cycling infrastructure was led by Marko from the Bicycle Office of the city of Zagreb. The on-site training was opened in the afternoon by Ms. Jadranka Veselić- Bruvo, Head Official, Department for Strategic Planning and Urban Development City of Zagreb and the City Mayor Mr. Milan Bandić who welcomed the worldwide participants and expressed his full support to improve cycling infrastructure in his city.
